It is well documented that Milwaukee lags in its entrepreneurial output. Alderman Stamper believes that entrepreneurship is the key to transforming the 15th District into a community of opportunity. To this end he is working with a number of organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors to provide more support for entrepreneurs. Alderman Stamper observes that “one of the biggest issues that small businesses face is access to capital …consequently, I’ve put a lot of energy into expanding access to capital for small business located in or locating to the 15th District.”
To encourage more entrepreneurship, Alderman Stamper is working with the WWBIC, WHEDA, local Chambers of Commerce a several other organizations. “It’s really all about opportunity…and when people can pursue their entrepreneurial dreams, then we can honestly say that we are a community of opportunity” says Alderman Stamper.
